Computer Programmer

Position Summary

The Emergency Services Department (Rescue 1122), Government of the Punjab, invites applications for the role of Computer Programmer (BPS-17) for their headquarters in Lahore. The successful candidate will be involved in software development, web development, application development, and design tasks. This position is offered on a project-based contract for two years, potentially extendable based on performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications (minimum 2nd division) from an HEC-recognized university:

• MCS (Master of Computer Science)
• MS (IT) (Master of Science in Information Technology)
• BCS (4 Years) (Bachelor of Computer Science)
• BS (Software Engineering)

Proficiency in software & web development, App development, and designing is essential, backed by a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. The required age bracket for this role is 24 to 32 years.

Selection Process Details

The recruitment process includes:
1. Online application submission via Central Testing Service (CTS).
2. Written, psychological tests, Physical tests, and Skill tests.
3. Publication of shortlisted candidates lists on CTS & ESD websites after each process.
4. A final interview conducted at the Emergency Services Department Headquarters, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore.
5. Submission of a government-issued medical report during the interview, covering physical examination (height, weight, chest, eyesight and physical deformities) and laboratory tests (Hepatitis B&C, HIV, RPR).

Important Terms and Conditions

Key conditions for applicants include:

• Vision/Health: Must meet specific vision standards (less than 6/6 each eye without glasses), not be color blind, have a BMI below 30, and test negative for Hepatitis B&C, HIV, and RPR. Any person positive shall be shortlisted at any stage.
• Physical Preference: Preference will be given to the candidates with height more than 5.6', whereas minimum chest size will be 33'.
• Age Relaxation: Generally no relaxation in age or qualification (Army/Civil). However, existing Emergency Services Department employees shall be given 5 years age relaxation in upper age limit only for administrative posts.
• Single Application: Candidates are directed to apply only for one suitable post; however appropriate candidate may be adjusted against other suitable post on recommendation of the Recruitment Committee.
• Residency: Local residents as per CNIC will be given preference.
• Screening: In case of the large number of applicants, only applications with preferred/enhanced criteria shall be considered.
• Post-Selection: Appointment contingent on verification of documents, Police Verification, successful completion of training and clearance by the medical board constituted by Government of the Punjab.
• Integrity: The candidature/ selection/ appointment shall be cancelled at any stage of recruitment or training and even after appointment, in case any information is found to be missing, false or forged.
