The Punjab Public Service Commission, Lahore, is seeking applications for various positions in the Punjab Prisons Department and Mines Labour Welfare Organization, Punjab, Mines & Minerals Department.

Position: Assistant Superintendent Jail (BS-16)

Basic Scale, Name & Nature of Post: (BS-16) Assistant Superintendent Jail (On Regular Basis)
Prescribed Qualification/Experience as per Service Rules:
i) Sixteen years’ education (second division) from a University recognized by Higher Education Commission;
ii) Physical Standard: height: 173cm and chest: 85cm without expansion and 90 cm with expansion; and
iii) Vision 6/6 both eyes without glasses.
Age: Male: 21 to 30 Years
Gender, Domicile & Place of Posting: Gender: Male, Domicile: All Punjab Basis, Place of Posting: Anywhere in the Punjab
Syllabus for Written Examination: “One paper of MCQ type General Ability Written test of 100 Marks and 90 minutes duration comprising questions relating to General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Islamic Studies (General Knowledge for Non-Muslim candidates), Geography, Basic Mathematics, English, Urdu, Everyday Science and Basic Computer Studies”.

Important Notes and Physical Standards

Candidates must get Medical Certificate mentioning all Physical Measurements issued on or before closing date signed and stamped by the Medical Superintendent of District Headquarters Hospitals or Service Hospital, Lahore and enter the same Physical standards in their Online Application Form as per medical certificate of Physical standard.
However, Medical fitness certificate issued within three (03) months prior to the closing date of the Advertisement shall be acceptable subject to the condition that the candidate fulfills all other requirements of Physical standards prescribed for the post. Medical certificate issued after the closing date shall not be acceptable in any circumstances.
Medical certificate tempered with or containing any over writing /illegible entry will not be accepted unless the tempering/over writing is properly signed and stamped by MS within closing date. Any change/correction /rectification in any form in Medical certificate after the closing date will not be accepted.
Incomplete Medical certificate such as without mentioning Height, vision, Chest expansion, picture, signature and stamp of the MS or any entry subsequently will not be accepted and candidates will not also be given any extra time to make up deficiencies in the Medical certificate.
Medical certificate issued from Govt. Tehsil Hospital/Private Hospital will not be accepted at all.
No relaxation in age (General age relaxation), education or physical standard shall be allowed. Punjab Civil Servants recruitment relaxation in upper age limit) Rules 1976 are not applicable for these posts.
The candidates who qualify in the test and will be recommended for appointment they will have to appear for such medical examination and meet the such conditions for appointment other than the above, as prescribed by the Government.
Change in the Priority/selection of examination centres after the fixation of written test shall not be allowed.
