Job Description

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) invites applications for the contractual position of Assistant Professor of Surgery at Sargodha Medical College. This role is a vital part of the medical faculty, focusing on both academic instruction and clinical practice within the surgical department. The initial contract spans three years, with the possibility of extension based on a candidate's good performance. The Assistant Professor will be involved in teaching, research, and patient care activities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must hold an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the PMDC/PMC. In addition, an FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, or MD, or a Diploma of American Board in the respective Surgery specialty, from a PMDC/PMC recognized institute or university is required.
Alternatively, applicants with an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, along with FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, or MD (General Surgery or Medicine) from a PMDC/PMC recognized institution, and at least three years of post-graduation practical experience in the relevant specialty, will be considered.
A valid (full) Permanent Registration Certificate from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), issued on or before the application closing date, is compulsory. Only practical experience obtained after acquiring the prescribed qualification will be taken into account.

Age, Gender, and Domicile

The age limit for male candidates is 25 to 50 years, while for female candidates it is 25 to 53 years. These limits include general age relaxations. Transgender persons are also eligible, and their age and sex will be determined according to their CNIC. All applicants must possess a domicile from any district of the Province of Punjab. The designated place of posting for this Assistant Professor position is Sargodha Medical College, Sargodha.
