Job Description

PPSC is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at Sargodha Medical College. This is a contractual appointment for a period of three years, with the possibility of extension based on good performance. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for delivering lectures, conducting practical sessions, engaging in research, and providing clinical services within the orthopaedic department. This role is crucial for developing future medical professionals and enhancing patient care in orthopaedics.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the PMDC/PMC. Additionally, candidates should possess an FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, or MD, or a Diploma of American Board in the respective Orthopaedics specialty, from an institute or university recognized by the PMDC/PMC.
Alternatively, candidates with an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, along with FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, or MD (General Surgery or Medicine) from a PMDC/PMC recognized institution, and at least three years of post-graduation practical experience in the relevant specialty, are also eligible.
A valid (full) Permanent Registration Certificate from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), issued on or before the application closing date, is mandatory. Only practical experience acquired after obtaining the prescribed qualification will be considered for eligibility.

Age, Gender, and Domicile

The age limit for male candidates is 25 to 50 years (including a 5-year general relaxation). For female candidates, the age limit is 25 to 53 years (including an 8-year general relaxation). Transgender persons are eligible, and their age and sex will be determined based on their CNIC details. Applicants must be domiciled in any district of the Province of Punjab. The place of posting for this role is Sargodha Medical College, Sargodha.
