Job Description

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is seeking highly qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery. This contractual role is based at Sargodha Medical College and offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to both academic and clinical aspects of neurosurgery. The initial contract spans three years, with potential for extension contingent upon satisfactory performance. Responsibilities include teaching medical students, conducting research, and performing neurosurgical procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the PMDC/PMC. Furthermore, applicants must hold an FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, or MD, or a Diploma of American Board in the respective Neurosurgery specialty, from an institute or university recognized by the PMDC/PMC.
Alternatively, individuals with an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, along with FCPS, MS, FRCS, MRCP, or MD (General Surgery or Medicine) from a PMDC/PMC recognized institution, and at least three years of post-graduation practical experience in the relevant specialty, are also eligible.
A valid (full) Permanent Registration Certificate from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) issued on or before the closing date of application is mandatory. Only practical experience obtained after acquiring the prescribed qualification will be considered.

Age, Gender, and Domicile

Male applicants should be between 25 and 50 years of age (25 to 45 years + 05 years general relaxation). Female applicants should be between 25 and 53 years of age (25 to 45 years + 08 years general relaxation). Transgender individuals are eligible, with their age and sex determined based on their CNIC. Domicile from any district of the Province of Punjab is a prerequisite. The place of posting for this position is Sargodha Medical College, Sargodha.
