Job Description

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) announces two vacancies for Assistant Professor of Forensic Medicine at Sargodha Medical College. These positions are offered on a contractual basis for a period of three years, extendable based on good performance. The roles involve teaching medical students about forensic principles, conducting post-mortem examinations, medico-legal case analysis, and contributing to research in forensic medicine, which is vital for both legal and medical systems.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the PMDC/PMC. Additionally, they should possess one of the following postgraduate qualifications: D.Sc., Ph.D., M.D., or M.Phil. (Pakistan) in Forensic Medicine, from a PMDC/PMC recognized institution. Credit will be given for original research work published in a standard medical journal.
If the above qualifications are not available, candidates with a Postgraduate Minor Diploma in Forensic Medicine and three years of teaching experience as a Demonstrator in a recognized institution will be considered. Credit will also be given for original research work published in a standard medical journal.
A valid (full) Permanent Registration Certificate from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), issued on or before the application closing date, is mandatory for all applicants.

Age, Gender, and Domicile

Male candidates should be between 25 and 50 years of age, and female candidates between 25 and 53 years of age, including applicable age relaxations. Transgender individuals are eligible, with their age and sex determined by their CNIC. Applicants must be domiciled in any district of the Province of Punjab. The designated place of posting for these positions is Sargodha Medical College, Sargodha.
