Job Description

PPSC is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Chemical Pathology at Sargodha Medical College. This is a contractual appointment for a period of three years, with the possibility of extension based on good performance. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching medical students about the chemical and biochemical aspects of disease, conducting research, and overseeing laboratory procedures in chemical pathology. This role is crucial for linking basic science with clinical diagnosis and patient management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the PMDC/PMC. Additionally, candidates must be registered with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC). They must also possess a postgraduate qualification such as Ph.D., FCPS, or MRC in Chemical Pathology, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) / Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) / Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Only practical experience acquired after obtaining the prescribed qualification will be considered for eligibility. A valid (full) Permanent Registration Certificate from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) or Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), issued on or before the application closing date, is mandatory.

Age, Gender, and Domicile

The age limit for male candidates is 25 to 50 years (including a 5-year general relaxation). For female candidates, the age limit is 25 to 53 years (including an 8-year general relaxation). Transgender persons are eligible, and their age and sex will be determined based on their CNIC details. Applicants must be domiciled in any district of the Province of Punjab. The place of posting for this role is Sargodha Medical College, Sargodha.
