Role Overview

National Fertilizer Marketing Limited (NFML) requires an experienced Agronomist or Soil Scientist to be part of a consultancy team. This team will be responsible for drafting a new national fertilizer policy for Pakistan. The position is offered on an intermittent, person-months basis. The specialist will provide critical scientific expertise regarding fertilizer use, soil health, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Agronomist or Soil Scientist will focus on the principles of balanced fertilizer use, drawing on experience from agricultural R&D institutes and practical farm field applications. Key responsibilities include analyzing soil conditions, the impact of fertilizers on crops and the environment, and advising on sustainable agronomic practices. The specialist's contributions will be vital for ensuring the scientific soundness of the new fertilizer policy.

Qualifications and Experience

The candidate must hold at least a Master's degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 15 years of experience in the balanced use of fertilizers at agricultural R&D institute(s) and in farm fields is mandatory. Furthermore, the specialist must be able to demonstrate their experience and contributions through published reports and refereed journal articles.
