About the Role
The National Bank of Pakistan is offering an opportunity for a Technical Analyst - CBA at the Officer Grade (OG-II / OG-I) level in Karachi. Reporting to the Senior Technical Analyst - CBA, this position is crucial for the design, development, and maintenance of the bank's Core Banking System (CBA). The role requires a technically astute individual with a strong understanding of banking functionalities and a keen eye for detail in system architecture and data management, ensuring the stability and reliability of critical financial operations.Educational Qualifications
To be eligible for the Technical Analyst - CBA position, candidates must have a minimum Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field. A Master's degree in these disciplines is also an acceptable qualification. The degree must be acquired from a local or international university or college recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Preference will be given to candidates holding relevant certifications, which attest to their specialized technical knowledge in core banking or related IT domains.Required Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience in the IT field is essential, with at least 1 year specifically in the architecture, design, or implementation of Core Banking solutions, or in FIS Profile Core Banking. Prior experience within a banking environment is preferred, ensuring a foundational understanding of financial systems and operations. This experience should demonstrate a clear capability in handling complex technical tasks related to core banking, including system integration and data management.Key Skills and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have expertise in implementing Core Banking Systems and performing technical analysis. Hands-on experience with VMware technology, including deploying, configuring, and cloning virtual machines, is required. Proficiency in database technologies such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server is also crucial, encompassing design, development, migration, and technical issues handling. The role demands strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges within the core banking environment, ensuring minimal disruption to services.Main Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include providing ongoing technical troubleshooting and resolving issues related to system functionality, performance, and integration. The Technical Analyst will conduct solution and technical risk analysis for any new requests or solutions related to Core Banking. Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications is a core duty. The role involves engaging in data migration processes and ensuring data accuracy within the core banking system, along with monitoring and optimization of database performance. Working on the integration of the Core Banking System with other systems within the organization, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability, is also vital. The analyst will customize and configure the Core Banking System to cater to specific business needs, potentially involving scripting languages, configuration files, or other tools provided by the Core Banking System. Developing and executing test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of the Core Banking System, and developing and maintaining technical documentation (system architecture, configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, ensuring documentation stays current with system changes) are also key. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, software developers, and system administrators, to ensure a holistic approach to Core Banking technology, is essential. The role also involves effectively performing or guiding the performance of application architectural design to ensure all solutions developed and deployed align with Enterprise Architecture standards. Providing guidance on business process analysis and design, and service delivery, particularly concerning the use of information, trends, and directions, and engaging in discussions and conflict resolution, tracking all deliverables, monitoring, and escalating issues as needed, are also part of the duties. Performing any other assigned task by the supervisor is also part of the role.Application Process
