Research Assistant

Job Overview

The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) is seeking a diligent Research Assistant to support its conservation and heritage preservation initiatives. This role is based in Lahore, with projects extending across Punjab. The appointment is on a contract basis for an initial period of one year.

Key Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will:

• Assist in data collection, entry, and analysis.
• Conduct literature reviews and prepare reports.
• Support the Principal Investigator (PI) in daily research tasks.
• Coordinate with participants and schedule sessions for research activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Eligible candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as History, Archaeology, Conservation, etc.
• Preference will be given to candidates with higher relevant qualifications and experience. While specific years of experience are not mandated, demonstrated ability in research tasks is essential.

Skills Required

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Ability to collect and manage data effectively.
• Good report writing and communication skills.
• Organizational skills for coordinating research activities.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates meeting the criteria should follow the application process outlined below:
i. Applications for Sr. # 1 to 7 are to be submitted through the Punjab Job Portal: www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk. Further job descriptions for every post are available on the Punjab Job Portal.
ii. The contract appointment is temporary in nature, non-transferable, non-pensionable, job/post specific, and confers no right for regularization. The contract appointment will be initially for 01 year, which can be extended or reduced by the competent authority.
iii. The offered salary against each post is on a lump-sum basis (including all allowances) with an annual increment according to Govt. of the Punjab notification (updated from time to time).
iv. A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer is required for government servants at the time of job application submission.
v. Incomplete applications will be rejected. Only shortlisted candidates will be intimated/called for a test/interview through call/e-mail etc.
vi. No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the test/interview.
vii. WCLA reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts or cancel any advertised post(s).
viii. The application should be submitted by the last date: 05-06-2025.
