About the Role

The National Bank of Pakistan invites applications for a Project Manager - Infrastructure Projects, an Associate Vice President (AVP) or Vice President (VP) level role based in Karachi. This position is critical for overseeing and managing various IT infrastructure projects, working under the guidance of the Unit Head - Infra. Policies, Procedures & Risk Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of infrastructure projects that align with the bank's strategic objectives and contribute to its robust technological foundation.

Educational Qualifications

For the Project Manager - Infrastructure Projects role, a minimum Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline is required. A Master's degree in these fields is also an acceptable qualification. The academic qualification must be from a local or international university or college recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Candidates with relevant certifications will be preferred, highlighting their specialized expertise in project management or IT infrastructure, especially those relevant to the banking sector.

Required Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in the IT field, with at least 3 years specifically in managing IT infrastructure projects. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a banking environment, demonstrating familiarity with the unique challenges and regulatory requirements of the financial sector. This experience should include a proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT infrastructure projects on time and within budget.

Key Skills and Knowledge

Essential skills include strong expertise in Project Management workflows and documentation. Candidates should possess sound knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure Technologies, Operations, and Information System Audit. Specific knowledge of IT Infrastructure projects, especially within a banking environment, is highly valued. The role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical, to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders. Furthermore, excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills are crucial. Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite, including Microsoft Projects, is also a requirement for successful project execution.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of the Project Manager - Infrastructure Projects include documenting project requirements and preparing comprehensive project deliverables, charters, and plans for management review and approval. The manager will oversee the designing, implementation, and maintenance of bank-wide projects for the Infrastructure Division. A key aspect of the role is to manage end-to-end project delivery across multiple servers, network, and infrastructure domains, ensuring excellent coordination among all stakeholders to meet business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring project milestones are met, resources are efficiently utilized, and projects are delivered within scope and budget. This also includes risk identification and mitigation, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, and fostering effective communication with all project participants throughout the project lifecycle.
