The Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC), a state-owned enterprise operating under the Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, Government of Pakistan, is inviting applications for the position of Procurement Officer – Project Site on an open contract basis. This role is crucial for managing procurement activities within PMDC's diverse mining, industrial, and large-scale project environments. Successful candidates will play a vital role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective procurement operations across various project sites.Key Responsibilities
As a Procurement Officer, your primary duties will encompass a wide range of procurement functions. This includes supporting the procurement lead in executing policies specific to mining sites and facilitating the procurement process while ensuring strict compliance with PPRA and corporate policies. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging with suppliers, obtaining competitive quotes, negotiating contracts, and building long-term relationships. Additionally, the role involves conducting thorough supplier evaluations based on quality, delivery, pricing, and safety standards, and collaborating with various departments like Engineering & Production, Maintenance, and Administration to fulfill project procurement needs. Detailed tasks also include preparing and processing purchase orders, monitoring delivery schedules, conducting market research, analyzing costs, and preparing comparative analyses of supplier offerings to support decision-making and negotiation. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date procurement records and providing internal and external audit support are also essential aspects of this role.Qualifications and Experience
Candidates interested in the Procurement Officer position must possess a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or any related field recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). A minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in procurement activities is required. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in mining, industrial, or large-scale project environments, demonstrating a solid understanding of complex procurement processes.Age Limit and Location
Applicants should not exceed 35 years of age on the closing date of application. There are three positions available: one each at Khewra, Warcha, and Quetta Office. Candidates should be prepared to work at one of these project sites.Application Process
