Job Overview

Al Shifa Trust Eye Hospital seeks a qualified and experienced Ophthalmologist to lead and provide eye care services during its Outreach Camps program, operating out of Rawalpindi. This position focuses on extending quality eye care to underserved communities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • FCPS / DOMS / MCPS / FRCS (Ophthalmology).
  • 2-3 years of experience specifically conducting or participating in outreach eye camps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases in camp settings.
  • Perform surgical procedures related to the eye as appropriate for the outreach setting.
  • Prescribe and manage treatment plans for patients with eye disorders, including medications, corrective lenses, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide emergency eye care services for conditions such as eye injuries, acute infections, and sudden vision changes encountered during camps.
  • Educate patients about their eye conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families to ensure they understand their diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Address patient concerns and inquiries in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as optometrists, primary care physicians, and specialists, to coordinate patient care and manage complex cases identified during camps.
  • Document patient details, diagnoses, treatments, and referrals accurately.
  • Report camp outcomes and submit necessary medical records for evaluation and future planning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and patient safety protocols during outreach activities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality improvement initiatives as required.
