Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Officer for Data Center Operations at PPCBL plays a vital role in ensuring the continuous availability and performance of the bank's critical IT infrastructure. This position involves comprehensive monitoring of servers, networks, and applications, with a keen eye for detecting and escalating any incidents promptly. Key responsibilities include regularly performing backups, restorations, and system health checks to maintain data integrity and operational efficiency. The officer will also provide crucial support for hardware installation, troubleshooting, and inventory management within the data center. Furthermore, the role entails overseeing the power, cooling, and environmental conditions of the data center, ensuring optimal operating conditions. Strict access control, security compliance, and smooth shift handovers are also paramount to the position, contributing to a secure and efficient data center environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants for the Officer, Data Center Operator position must hold a minimum Bachelor's Degree from an HEC recognized University, with a specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. A minimum of one year of post-qualification experience is required, specifically in a similar data center operations or IT support role. Candidates should have practical experience in monitoring IT infrastructure, performing routine maintenance tasks, and basic troubleshooting. Familiarity with data center best practices and an understanding of security protocols are also highly desirable.
