The Home Department, Government of Punjab, is actively seeking a highly competent Network Engineer for a contract-based position. This role is of critical importance for establishing and maintaining a robust and secure network infrastructure that underpins the department's operations. Core Responsibilities and Technical Expertise

This includes extensive hands-on experience in configuring, managing, and maintaining essential network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls. The role demands a deep understanding of network protocols and topologies, ensuring optimal network performance and security. Furthermore, the Network Engineer will provide overall system and network support within the public sector, addressing connectivity issues, implementing network upgrades, and ensuring compliance with security policies. Possession of a Professional Level Certificate in network administration or cyber security from a recognized institute is a mandatory requirement, highlighting the advanced level of expertise expected for this role.

Qualifications and Required Experience

Candidates applying for the Network Engineer position must possess strong academic credentials and substantial professional experience. Educationally, applicants are required to hold an MCS or MIT or BCS or BS (Second Division) in Telecom System Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). This ensures a solid theoretical and practical foundation in network engineering principles.

From an experience perspective, a minimum of seven (07) years of post-qualification experience is mandatory. This experience must be directly relevant to troubleshooting LAN or WAN networks, including practical expertise in handling routers, switches, and firewalls. Crucially, the candidate must have demonstrable experience in providing overall system and network support, preferably within the public sector. This extensive experience is vital for navigating the complexities and demands of a governmental network environment. The requirement for a Professional Level Certificate in network administration or cyber security further emphasizes the need for specialized, certified skills.

Age Limit and Key Attributes

The age limit for applicants for the Network Engineer position is between 30 and 40 years. Beyond the technical qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues. A proactive approach to network monitoring, maintenance, and security enhancements is highly valued. Strong communication skills are also essential for collaborating effectively with team members, IT staff, and other departmental stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise technical explanations and efficient issue resolution.
