Job Overview

Applications are invited by The Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur for the position of Lecturer (Commerce). This is a BPS-18 equivalent, contract-based role located in Shikarpur, Sindh. The university is seeking individuals to teach and contribute to the Commerce department.

Key Responsibilities

The Lecturer (Commerce) will be responsible for:

• Delivering engaging lectures, tutorials, and seminars in various Commerce subjects.
• Preparing and updating course materials and lesson plans.
• Conducting student assessments, including exams and assignments.
• Providing academic counseling and support to students.
• Assisting in the development and review of the Commerce curriculum.
• Participating in departmental activities and university functions.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the Lecturer (Commerce) position must possess:

• Qualification: First class MS/MPhil/equivalent degree awarded after 18 Years of education in Commerce from an HEC recognized University/Institution with no 3rd division in the academic career. The condition of no 3rd division shall not be applicable in the qualification of appointment as lecturer in Universities or Degree awarding Institutions provided that the candidate holds a higher degree (viz PhD or equivalent degree) with not more than one 3rd division in their entire academic career.
• Number of Positions: 02
• Domicile: Only Sindh domiciled candidates are eligible.
• Age Limit: Maximum 45 years. Age, qualifications, and experience shall be calculated/examined as on the closing date of submission of application.
• Degree Attestation: All candidates are required to submit Higher Education Commission (HEC) attested degrees. Foreign degree holders must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the HEC.

Application Process and General Instructions

1. The prescribed application form can be downloaded from the university website www.saus.edu.pk or can be obtained from the Registrar Office, The Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur.
2. The complete application form, along with attested copies of required documents (educational certificates, CNIC, domicile, experience certificates if any, recent passport-size photographs) and a non-refundable Pay Order/Demand Draft of Rs. 3000/- in favor of Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur, must reach the office of the Registrar on or before 13th June 2025. The envelope should be clearly marked with the post applied for.
3. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application form along with a separate bank draft/Pay order and necessary documents for each post.
4. Candidates currently serving in Government/Semi-Government and autonomous bodies should apply through the proper channel and must provide an NOC from their employer.
5. Incomplete applications (i.e., without required documents, processing fee, etc.) or applications received after the due date will not be entertained.
6. All positions are purely on a contract basis, initially for two years, however, the contract is extendable subject to satisfactory performance.
7. The University reserves the right to cancel the advertised post(s) partly or as a whole. The number of vacancies can be increased or decreased.
8. Candidates will be shortlisted based on academic qualifications, experience, and screening test (if applicable). Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview/written test.
9. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the interview/written test.
