ITS Specialist

Role Overview

Trans Karachi is seeking a highly skilled ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) Specialist to contribute to the Karachi BRT Red Line Project. This specialist will be responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of all ITS components, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the BRT system through advanced technology.

Key Responsibilities

The ITS Specialist will be tasked with:

• Managing Internet of Things (IoT) integrations within the BRT system.
• Overseeing ITS programming and software development.
• Administering and optimizing ITS databases.
• Working with AFC (Automated Fare Collection), ITS, and related technologies in public transportation.
• Ensuring compliance with technical specifications for hardware and software.
• Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards, CCTV systems, communication systems, computerization, fleet management, and fare collection systems.
• Planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining ITS solutions.
• Demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and Experience

To be eligible, candidates must possess:

• Qualification: Master's degree from an HEC recognized institute in Information Technology, Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, or a related field. Specialization in IOT, ITS Programming, and Database Management is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 07 years of relevant experience, including at least 03 years in a senior ITS leadership role. Experience working with AFC, ITS, and other related technologies in public transport/bus transport is crucial. Experience with O&M and operational planning, and ensuring fulfillment of hardware and software technical requirements for systems like TIA/EIA, AFC, CCTV, communication, computerization, fleet management, and fare collection systems.
