Opportunity in Islamic Banking Operations

ZARAI TARAQIATI BANK LIMITED (ZTBL), a 'AAA' rated specialized financial institution, is seeking a dynamic professional for the role of Islamic Banking Operations (VP-I/VP). This position is vital for maintaining the efficiency and compliance of the Bank's Islamic Banking operations across its extensive network of over 500 branches. This role is based at the Head Office in Islamabad, Pakistan, offering a challenging yet rewarding environment for growth.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate for the Islamic Banking Operations job will be responsible for a wide array of tasks focused on operational excellence and Shariah compliance. Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing observations raised by Compliance, Shariah Compliance, and Audit departments.
Formulating strategies for implementing recommendations to avoid recurrence.
Recommending system-based controls to ensure all functions and tasks related to branches/windows opening, relocation, closure, etc., are aligned with Bank’s and SBP policies.
Contributing to capacity-building through human resource development for future Islamic Banking requirements.
Providing guidance to Regional and Branch Management for Islamic Banking’s operational activities, aligned with the Bank’s strategic growth plan.
Coordinating with all other Departments, Divisions, and Departments regarding Operations of all Branches and Windows.
Coordinating with Regional Operations Managers (ROMs) for resolution of daily affairs of IB Branches and Windows.
Undertaking any other task assigned by the Management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants for the Islamic Banking Operations position must possess a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience specifically within Islamic Banking. The educational requirement is a minimum Bachelor's degree obtained from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized Institute or University, whether National or International. This background ensures candidates have the foundational knowledge and practical expertise necessary to excel in the complexities of Islamic financial operations.
