About the Institution

Lady Reading Hospital Medical Teaching Institution in Peshawar is a leading healthcare and academic center committed to excellence in medical education, research, and patient care. They are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to head the Medical Institution as Dean.

Position Overview

The Dean is a key leadership position responsible for heading the Medical Institution. This role involves overseeing faculty recruitment and development, undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching, and research. The Dean reports to the Board of Governors and is also responsible for all budgetary and financial matters relating to the medical school and its functions. The selected Dean will also receive a faculty appointment at an appropriate level (associate professor or full professor) in a department relevant to their specialty.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate for the Dean position will be an established scholar with the following qualifications and experience:

• Medical or basic science qualifications (MBBS or equivalent).
• A higher Diploma, such as a FCPS, FRCP, FRCS, or a US Board certification or equivalent, or a Ph.D. degree in a medical science.
• At least seven years of administrative experience leading a department, unit, program, or institution.
• Recognized leadership qualities, a track record in teaching, and a strong commitment to medical education and research.

Responsibilities

The Dean will be responsible for:

• Heading the Medical Institution.
• Faculty recruitment and development.
• Overseeing undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching.
• Promoting and managing research activities.
• Reporting to the Board of Governors.
• Managing all budgetary and financial matters of the medical school.
