Role Overview

Lady Reading Hospital Medical Teaching Institution, Peshawar, Pakistan, is seeking a distinguished academic leader for the position of Dean. The Dean will be pivotal in shaping the institution's future, fostering excellence in medical education, research, and faculty development. Key Responsibilities

The Dean will head the Medical Institution and assume comprehensive responsibility for several key areas:

• Faculty Management: Overseeing faculty recruitment, development, and performance.
• Educational Programs: Leading undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching and curriculum development.
• Research: Promoting and managing research activities within the institution.
• Reporting: Accountable to the Board of Governors for all institutional activities.
• Financial Oversight: Managing all budgetary and financial matters related to the medical school and its functions.

The Dean will also receive a faculty appointment at an appropriate level (Associate Professor or Full Professor) in a department relevant to their specialty. This appointment will not be limited to the term of the Dean's office.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: An established scholar with medical or basic science qualifications (MBBS or equivalent). Must possess a higher Diploma (such as FCPS, FRCP, FRCS, or a US Board certification or equivalent) OR a Ph.D. degree in a medical science.
• Experience: A minimum of seven years of administrative experience leading a department, unit, program, or institution.
• Leadership: Recognized leadership qualities, a proven track record in teaching, and a strong commitment to medical education and research.
