About Central Power Generation Company Limited

Central Power Generation Company Limited (CPGCL), located at Guddu, District Kashmore (Sindh), is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) operating under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy (Power Division). The company plays a pivotal role in the national power sector by producing cost-effective and reliable electricity through its 747MW Gas-Based Combined Cycle Power Plant established at Guddu.

Key Responsibilities

• The Company Secretary shall report only and directly to the Board of Directors and maintain confidentiality on all matters.
• Responsible for ensuring that Board procedures are followed and all applicable laws and regulations are complied with.
• Maintain complete knowledge of Corporate Governance Rules of Public Sector Companies.
• Strong business acumen and experience in Senior Management positions with Board level interaction.
• Excellent writing skills to effectively record and produce Board minutes and directions.

Qualification and Experience

Qualification:

• A member of a recognized body of Professional Accountants; OR
• A member of a recognized body of Corporate or Chartered Secretaries; OR
• A person holding a Master degree in business or finance or commerce or law from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years of demonstrated experience serving as Company Secretary in a reputable Public/Private Sector organization or State-Owned Enterprise (SOE).
• Power, Energy or Generation Sector experience will be given preference.
