Job Overview

The Lahore High Court, Lahore, Examination Wing, invites applications on the prescribed form from individuals domiciled in Punjab. Candidates must meet the qualifications outlined in the Punjab Judicial Service Rules, 1994, for appointment against vacant temporary posts of Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate (BS-17) with all fringe benefits. These posts are likely to become permanent.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: Possess a degree in Law from a recognized University entitling practice of the profession of law, or be a member of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland.
• Experience: Be an advocate who has actively practiced the profession of law for not less than 02 years after enrollment. The two-year practice period is counted from the date the advocate enrolled with any Bar Association under Rule 7.10 read with Rule 7.18 of The Punjab Legal Practitioners and Bar Council Rules, 2023, fulfilling criteria under Rule-7 of Punjab Judicial Service Rules, 1994.
• Age Limit: Be not less than twenty-two (22) years and not more than thirty-five (35) years of age as of 05.05.2025.
• Domicile: Must be domiciled in Punjab.

Quota Allocation

Specific quotas are reserved:

• Differently Abled Persons: 3% quota as per The Punjab Disabled Persons (Employment and Rehabilitation Ordinance, 1981 as amended through Ordinance, 2015 (X of 2015)).
• Minorities: 5% quota as per Government of the Punjab Notification No. SOR-III (S & GAD) 1-35/93, dated 27.03.2010.

Selection Process

The selection involves:

• Written Examination: A written examination covering law and other subjects as specified in Notification No. SOR-III(S&GAD)1-13/2025 dated 08.04.2025. Candidates need to secure at least 40% marks in each paper and 45% in aggregate.
• Psychological and Aptitude Test: Candidates eligible after the written test will undergo a psychological and aptitude test.
• Interview/Viva Voce: A final interview/viva voce of 300 marks. A minimum of 50% passing marks (150/300) is required to be declared successful.

2. The prescribed form and important instructions are available on the official website: www.lhc.gov.pk/jobs. Download and carefully read all instructions before filling the form.
3. Deposit a non-refundable examination fee of Rs. 5,000/- in any branch of MCB bank. The deposit must be made to Gold Saving Account No. 0785503341001134 titled 'Human Resource-District Judiciary'. Fees submitted through online mobile banking or any other online medium will **not** be accepted.
4. Dispatch the hard copy of the completed online application form, the original fee deposit slip, and relevant documents (as mentioned in important instructions) through courier service.
5. Address the package to the Registrar, Examination Wing of Lahore High Court, Lahore.
6. The hard copy application must reach the office on or before **05.05.2025**. No hard copy applications will be accepted after this date.
7. The date for the written examination will be intimated later.
