About the Organization

National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) is a large public sector insurance company, owned by the Government of Pakistan (CUIN # 0041095). It is a key player in General Insurance. NICL invites applications from interested candidates for the hiring of Chief Medical Officers (CMO) for its Head Office in Karachi and Zonal Office in Islamabad on a retainership basis.

Position Overview

Post: Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Number of Posts: 02 (One for Karachi, One for Islamabad)
Age Limit: Between 35-45 years
Gender: Male / Female
Contract Period/Tenure: 3-years on Retainership Basis

Minimum Qualification & Experience

Qualification: MBBS Degree from a recognized Institution; FCPS qualification will be preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience, including a house job in general medicine. 3 years' of experience in tertiary healthcare will be considered an advantage.

Terms & Conditions of Appointment

1. This appointment is purely on retainership basis.
2. This appointment can be terminated without assigning any reason by either party by giving one month's notice of termination of service in writing or payment of one month's retainer-ship amount in lieu thereof, or proportionate payment for the unexpired notice period.
3. The Chief Medical Officer will neither be a permanent employee nor be an employee on contract basis or a contingent paid employee of NICL. Moreover, his/her remuneration will not affect payroll but be accounted for as medical / administrative expenses where withholding tax is deducted instead of income tax.

Duty Timings and Functions

a) 5 hours daily between 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM at NICL office on all working days to discharge the following functions:

• To attend emergency cases.
• To examine employees and wherever required refer them to Hospitals/Specialists.
• To visit various hospitals where employees of NICL or their dependents are admitted to ensure proper treatment.
• To scrutinize and endorse payment of medical bills received from the various hospitals, chemists and employees.
• To carry out medical examinations of newly recruited employees of NICL.
• To examine cases of chronic diseases.
• To administer medical facilities for the employee of NICL and keep a strict control on the expenses under this head.
• To perform any other functions relating to medical as may be assigned by the management.
• The scope of work for CMO Karachi is not limited to NICL Karachi Branch offices of Zonal office and Branch offices of NICL South Zone.
• Whereas the scope of work for CMO Islamabad is not limited to NICL Islamabad office but it also includes all related matters of Zonal office and Branch offices of NICL North Zone.

b) Apart from all above, the Chief Medical Officer will also be available telephonically beyond the office hours to deal with emergency situations.

3. The person must hold MBBS Degree (Verified from HEC) from PMDC recognized institute (attested copy of degree must be attached with CV).
4. Applicants must submit Declaration / Affidavit on Legal Paper of worth Rs. 100/- (along with the application) that the applicant is not blacklisted by any Government, Semi Govt. or Autonomous institution due to any reason.
5. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated and called for interview.
6. Selection will strictly be on merit.
7. No TA/DA will be admissible for interviews.
