About the Job

The Independent System & Market Operator (ISMO) invites applications from dynamic, qualified, and experienced professionals for the position of Chief Internal Auditor on a contract basis. ISMO plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of Pakistan's power system and electricity market.

Functions & Responsibilities

• Evaluate accounting, financial, credit and other operational activities as an independent appraisal function.
• Review and appraise the soundness, adequacy and application of accounting, financial and operational controls.
• Formulate internal audit programs for audit of all aspects of financial transactions.
• Develop an effective team of competent subordinates who understand, and are able to discharge the obligations of their positions.
• Maintain liaison with the external and commercial auditors of the Company.
• Coordinate with the Audit Committee of the Board, and undertake special audits and investigations on the direction of the Board Audit Committee and the Board of Directors.
• Evaluate the design and effectiveness of compliance functions etc.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must:

• Be a member of a recognized body of professional accountants, qualifying CA/CPA/ACMA/ACCA/MBA (Finance) from a reputed local or international University/Institute.
• Have minimum 12 years of post-qualification relevant experience, including at least 5 years in senior management or executive-level roles, with demonstrated expertise in auditing and risk management, designing of internal control procedures, effective compliance of financial reliability in public/private sector with understanding of governance, risks and risks controls especially in SOEs or public sector projects.
• Meet Fit & Proper criteria as defined under Schedule-IV of the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023.
