Position Overview

Khyber Medical College (MTI), Peshawar is seeking applications from suitable candidates for the position of Chairperson in the following departments: Anatomy, Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Medical Education, and Opthalmology. This is an honorary position offering leadership and administrative experience.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be from amongst the medical faculty (only Medical doctors) and be free from disciplinary proceedings/inquiry/misconduct. Applicants will be assessed on Teaching experience, research publications, leadership qualities, and management skills. Applicants must currently hold a valid position in the relevant department/specialty at the level of Assistant Professor or higher. Criteria will be as per the policy board MTIs regulations duly adopted by the BoG MTI KTH/KMC/KCD & MTI Act, 2015 (Amended from time to time).

Terms of Appointment

This is a tenure-based position for a period of 03 years, renewable for two further terms of three years each based upon performance and advice of the Academic Council. The selected chairperson, other than faculty members of KMC/KTH, shall have a salary package equivalent to the initial contractual pay of the same faculty posts they are eligible under MTI/KMC/KTH/KCD rules. Institutional Based Practice (IBP) for clinical Chairpersons shall be mandatory. The selected doctor shall not practice medicine outside the hospital premises. IBP perks and privileges will be admissible.

Application Process

1. Applications must be submitted on the prescribed form (available on KMC website: http://www.kmc.edu.pk) within FIFTEEN (15) days of the publication of this advertisement.
2. Attach a complete Resume/CV, CNIC, all educational documents, experience certificates, Research Publications, Professional certifications/diploma, and other relevant documents duly attested.
3. Include a covering letter and names/addresses of three referees (electronic or hard copies).
4. A processing fee of Rs. 3,000/- (non-refundable) must be deposited in NBP, University Campus Branch, Peshawar in favour of Dean, KMC. Account No. NIDA-10-4. Attach the original deposit slip with the application form.
5. Submit the complete application package to the office of the Dean, KMC.
6. Applications received after the closing time and date will be rejected. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
7. Candidates applying for more than one department must apply separately for each, depositing the fee separately.
8. Only shortlisted candidates as per prescribed criteria shall be called for the interview.
9. Original documents must be produced at the time of interview.
10. No TA/DA is allowed for test/interview.
