The Karachi Mobility Project, under the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) and the Transport & Mass Transit Department, Government of Sindh, is re-advertising an exciting capacity-building program. Titled 'Shift Gears Toward Equality — Become a Skilled BRT Operator!', this program is specifically designed for women, transgender, and intersex persons who are interested in learning and enhancing their driving skills for Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) such as buses, trucks, trailers, and cranes. This initiative supports the operation of HTV services for the Karachi Mobility Project (Yellow Line BRTS), fostering inclusivity and empowerment in the public transport sector.

Supportive Skills and Qualifications

Applicants must meet specific criteria for this training program. For women, a minimum of Matriculation/Intermediate qualification is required. For transgender and intersex persons, a Class 8th pass is preferable. All candidates must possess a driving license (Motor Car, LTV is preferable), indicating a basic understanding of driving principles. Furthermore, a confident communicator and a willingness to learn are essential traits, ensuring active participation and successful completion of the intensive training program.
