About the Job

Abyan Capital is looking for a skilled Backend Developer (PHP) to join their team at their Gulberg office in Lahore. This is an on-site position requiring a commitment to building and maintaining high-quality backend systems.

Roles And Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

• Writing clean code and comprehensive tests, building prototypes, resolving technical issues, and analyzing performance bottlenecks.
• Designing and implementing robust APIs to support both mobile and desktop client applications.
• Managing and optimizing scalable distributed systems, particularly within cloud environments.
• Optimizing web applications to ensure high performance and scalability.
• Developing automated tests to validate business requirements and facilitate regression testing.
• Understanding fundamental design concepts for creating user-friendly applications.
• Staying current with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in backend development.

Skills And Qualifications

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Proven professional experience in PHP development, demonstrating a strong understanding of PHP frameworks such as Laravel.
• Experience in developing and integrating RESTful APIs, especially for mobile and web application backends.
• An in-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and common design patterns.
• Familiarity with version control tools like Git, Sourcetree, etc.
• Knowledge of database management systems, particularly MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and distributed systems.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies, including the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Scrum.
• A demonstrable growth mindset and a genuine passion for creating innovative solutions.

Experience Required

Applicants need to have 3-4 years of relevant professional experience in backend PHP development.
