Position Overview

SIOVS is inviting applications for the position of Associate Professor of Ophthalmology with a sub-specialization in Vitreo-Retina. This teaching position offers the flexibility of a contractual or regular appointment, coupled with a contributory pension scheme, providing long-term career stability. The Associate Professor will be responsible for teaching, clinical practice focused on vitreoretinal conditions, engaging in specialized research, and contributing to the development of this sub-specialty within the institute. This role requires expertise in both academic instruction and advanced clinical skills in Vitreo-Retina.

Qualifications and Experience

The specific educational qualifications, clinical experience, and teaching experience for the position of Associate Professor of Ophthalmology (Vitreo-Retina) must strictly adhere to the standards prescribed by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) / Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC). Generally, this entails an MBBS degree, followed by a fellowship or doctoral degree in Ophthalmology (e.g., FCPS/MS/MD) with specialized training or experience in Vitreo-Retina from a recognized institution. Significant post-specialization clinical and teaching experience at relevant levels and a strong record of research publications in reputable medical journals are prerequisites.
