Job Overview

The Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur invites applications from dynamic and qualified individuals for the position of Assistant Professor (Computer Science/IT) on a contract basis. This is a BPS-19 equivalent role, offering an opportunity to contribute to the academic and research environment of the university in Shikarpur, Sindh, in the field of Computer Science/IT.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Professor (Computer Science/IT) will be responsible for:

• Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Computer Science/IT.
• Developing and delivering engaging lectures, labs, and course materials.
• Supervising student research projects and theses.
• Contributing to curriculum development and academic planning.
• Engaging in scholarly research and publication in Computer Science/IT.
• Participating in departmental and university administrative duties and committees.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following criteria for the Assistant Professor (Computer Science/IT) position:

• Qualification: PhD in Computer Science/IT from an HEC recognized University/Institution.
• Experience: No prior experience is required.
• Number of Positions: 01
• Domicile: Only Sindh domiciled candidates are eligible.
• Age Limit: Maximum 45 years. Age, qualifications, and experience shall be calculated/examined as on the closing date of submission of application.
• Degree Attestation: All candidates are required to submit Higher Education Commission (HEC) attested degrees. Foreign degree holders must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the HEC.

Application Process and General Instructions

1. The prescribed application form can be downloaded from the university website www.saus.edu.pk or can be obtained from the Registrar Office, The Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur.
2. The complete application form, along with attested copies of required documents (educational certificates, CNIC, domicile, experience certificates if any, recent passport-size photographs) and a non-refundable Pay Order/Demand Draft of Rs. 3000/- in favor of Shaikh Ayaz University Shikarpur, must reach the office of the Registrar on or before 13th June 2025. The envelope should be clearly marked with the post applied for.
3. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application form along with a separate bank draft/Pay order and necessary documents for each post.
4. Candidates currently serving in Government/Semi-Government and autonomous bodies should apply through the proper channel and must provide an NOC from their employer.
5. Incomplete applications (i.e., without required documents, processing fee, etc.) or applications received after the due date will not be entertained.
6. All positions are purely on a contract basis, initially for two years, however, the contract is extendable subject to satisfactory performance.
7. The University reserves the right to cancel the advertised post(s) partly or as a whole. The number of vacancies can be increased or decreased.
8. Candidates will be shortlisted based on academic qualifications, experience, and screening test (if applicable). Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview/written test.
9. No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the interview/written test.
