Responsibilities

The employee will be responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and security of all AKES, P units in Gilgit-Baltistan. He or she will oversee all maintenance-related tasks, ensuring the proper upkeep of all AKES, P facilities within the region and managing all repair and maintenance projects. The employee will also work towards fostering a preventive maintenance culture in schools, preparing future plans for repairs and retrofitting, and conducting condition assessments for necessary facilities. Additionally, he or she will create work scopes for construction projects. The role includes assisting in the development of budgets and cost breakdowns for maintenance, minor updates, and major capital projects in the region, as well as planning and scheduling these projects using tools like MS Project. The employee will also assist in reviewing design documents, including programme milestones and cost estimates. He or she will provide operational support to regional management in identifying, scoping, and implementing maintenance activities while maintaining close coordination with RSDUs and school heads to ensure the timely and effective execution of planned activities. Furthermore, the employee will be responsible for preparing and updating registers for all AKES, P properties and securely managing related documents.

Qualification and Experience

The ideal candidate should hold a BSc in Civil Engineering, with at least four years of relevant experience and proficiency in computer skills (MS Word and Excel).
