Shaheen Foundation, PAF, a prominent organization with interests in the aviation and commercial sectors, has announced a job opportunity for the role of Assistant Director Tax. The foundation is looking for a skilled professional to join their team and manage all taxation matters, ensuring compliance and contributing to the financial health of the organization.Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for this position:- Qualification: Minimum CA Inter / ACCA qualified with CA Articles Completed.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of post-articles experience, independently handling taxation matters, with a special focus on sales tax, in a reputable organization.
- Skills: Excellence in handling matters with FBR & all four provincial sales tax authorities (SRB, PRA, KPRA, BRA), including preparation and filing of returns, responding to notices, and independent representation before commissioners and appellate tribunals. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities are also required, along with a proven track record in saving taxes and contributing to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Director Tax will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:- Preparation, finalization, and filing of monthly sales tax returns for FBR, SRB, PRA, KPRA, and BRA.
- Preparation of monthly sales tax reconciliation statements to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Handling the entire process of sales tax refund claims, from preparation and filing to follow-up.
- Managing sales tax notices and appeals in coordination with the Tax Consultant.
- Presenting sales tax matters before the Board of Directors (BOD).
- Advising projects and subsidiary companies on routine sales tax issues.
- Conducting sales tax audits of projects to ensure accurate data submission in compliance with tax laws.
- Assisting in compiling data for projects/subsidiaries for tax cases.
